Chad Keune has grown Advantage into a leading home builder and developer. Chad holds the highest designations from the National Association of Home Builders. He is the only builder in the state to hold both Master Certified Green Professional and Graduate Master Builder designations. He and his team have also won awards including the Home Builder of the Year from the HBA and several Parade of Homes awards.
Director of Finance and Operations
Kim Miller, who joined Advantage in 2016, serves as the primary guide who walks clients through the building process from start to finish. A native of Lake in the Hills, Illinois, Kim’s goal is to understand how clients ‘live their lives’ so Advantage can build them a home that fits their needs. Kim says, "It’s fun to think I get to play a small role in giving someone a place to make memories."

Leah Johnson joined Advantage in 2021. Leah creates thoughtful content to propel Advantage forward in the market. She also builds and oversees relationships with Advantage’s valued customers to ensure they have the best possible home building experience throughout the entire process.
Leah’s favorite part of Advantage is the small business feel, the focused energy of the employees, and the company’s dedication to quality. “Much like the Corridor, it’s the perfect combination of everything you want in your community.”
Leah, who is originally from Pella, Iowa, loves to be outdoors and enjoys trout fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, camping, and hiking. Fittingly, her favorite Advantage home is the Signature Home on Lake Macbride. She and her husband Tyler have two cats, Carl and Kat, and one 3-legged rescue dog, Barb.
Leasing Manager
David Gray joined the Advantage team in 2022 as the leasing manager for our rental department. He works with prospective tenants, showing property to help them find the best fit for their needs. He continues working with all our rental clients, assisting in paperwork, coordinating maintenance and, in general, ensuring the best living experience possible. He works closely with our community partners and sub-contractors, keeping our roots deep within the corridor and experts from all fields on our team.
David’s favorite part about Advantage is the culture, he appreciates the dynamic of a smaller team with the independence to manage all our rental properties, providing customer service in the best way he sees fit. His favorite feature about his current home is the size of his yard, lots of room for his family and dog to enjoy.
Originally from Burlington, David has rooted himself in the corridor community and plans to stay in the area and continue to build a bright future for him and his family. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with them and his dog, Sadie and two cats, Millie and Marvin.

Peter McCarthy, a native of Vero Beach, Florida, oversees all of Advantage’s Signature and Simplicity homebuilding projects. He ensures they get done on time and according to the homeowners’ specifications.
One of his favorite moments on the job? Peter says, "I stayed late to help a customer lay out her dining room table using tape so we could figure out the perfect placement for her custom dining room lights."
One of his favorite projects? "It was a ranch home with a finished basement. This home had a very tight deadline, and I assisted with making sure the deadlines were met."
When Peter isn’t at work, he enjoys spending time with his kids outside.

Nate Laing is an Iowa City native who joined Advantage in 2016. Nate assists with framing and dirt work, and enjoys helping Advantage set the standard for detail, cleanliness, and knowledge on the job. One of the reasons he loves what he does? Nate says, "I get to be outside all of the time."
When he’s not building homes, Nate enjoys hanging out on his home patio with his two black labs, Max and Arlo.
